Run for your life

I have had a long break from exercise due to various reasons like the weather, illnesses and work over load and then due to various excuses like I don't have an exercise partner anymore, I don't have time and I don't want to ruin my pedicure by putting on trainers.
Yesterday I put all of the above to and end and donned my Reeboks and jumped back in the saddle. No, I didn't go horse riding although I had the energy to ride an endurance race. I decided that after my long lapse I should take it easy and poddle around the park.
I did not notice anyone yesterday, just trying to keep breathing was hard enough....puff puff.
.................
..Gosh it was really hard work. Today was a whole lot easier. alright, alright....not a lot but a little bit. I was taking notes as I passed the people and wondered how they felt. Why were they here? Some clearly wanted to show off their midriffs, and very nice they were too. I passed a man hobbling along with a walking stick (WTG man) and an old woman who looked like she was very literally dragging her feet along behind her, until I saw that it was her husband who was dragging all of her along. There were plenty of ipods to be seen, making me feel rather shameful of my generic mp3 player from Meena Bazaar. I consoled myself with the fact that I must have a much better range of music on mine thanks to the good old guys at Kazaa.
Still plodding I saw a lady coming down towards me at full pelt...wow...she really had some go in her. As she passed me I could not help but wonder why she was crying her eyes out. Had her ipod broken? Was she jealous of my look-like-new-unused-reeboks? Was she desperately attempting to get a rush of peptide hormones through her body to cure some SZR depression? I shall see how she looks tomorrow and get back to y'all on that one.

The last one I passed had me truly baffled...

She was running with an EMPTY baby jogger.
Yes, empty.
I spent the rest of my run (ok, fast walk) diving in and out of bushes in search of the bounced bambino.
Again, I shall keep my eyes peeled tomorrow for any cherubic signs in the wilderness.

Hey CG glad to see I was wrong about your chat board - lots of people are making deep intellectual points here - especially that bunny!

I had a couple of goes on my long-neglected exercise bike yesterday. Must be something in the air.

glad you're back on the excercising track.. it's tough to start, but the first step is the most difficult.. way to go!
