Housemaids & Plugs

Never assume that your maid knows where to plug the dryer in.

When you smell that familiar 'fishy' pong wafting through an area, do not assume that others will also recognise the smell of a burning plug.

When you identify the location of the smell, remove the plug yourself. DO NOT, and I repeat, do not ask the maid to unplug it and wait for your return to assess the situation.

Otherwise your maid might do as mine did, and wait for it to cool down and then restart the dryer (yeh, like we beat her if she does not get the sheets dried...hawhaw).

Luckily I arrived in the nick of time.

haha! and OMG! Man, I'd be worried given your maids skills, or lack thereof with electric stuff.

Not all of us have maids!!
Some of us are just as bad without the maids.

i find it funny when people rely on their maids to do EVERYTHING and expect them to understanding every single thing they understand, and then get pissed off when they make a mistake. lol. good lesson.

ahem. I told her to leave the plug alone. She understood, but chose to to what she thought was fine.

Remember if she had more brains than that, she would not be a maid. also the ultimate responsibility is on you, but you're right, this is taking the piss.. man, sometimes they are so stupid, and they do not learn, that's the annoying thing. they think they know it but they don't know death staring them in the face.

funny post, mind you :)

Buj: You now seriously need to get married. Friends, maids, and good biryani all in the same line.... Mera Bhai.
This is dangerous.....

kaya, after reading your comment to poor DJ about getting married i thought i'd wind you up with that comment.

you remind me with my doctor in rashidiya or "doctors" in the 19th century.. the rashidiya guys prescribe antibiotics for anything from a paper cut to a heart attack. the 19th guys believed in bleeding.

marriage is not the solution to everything. trust me. just coz it works for you doesn't mean that one size fits all. plus marriage is a concept not a person.

Kaya, yes true, not everyone has maids, but that is usually their own choice. When I am without one, I suddenly get a rush of between 50-100 visitors in the majlis between 8-11.30pm every night and my galley starts to resemble Hells Kitchen.

Anyway maids are thick and as usual I am to blame for thinking for a minute that she would listen to her wise mistress...

Buj, stay as you are. If you can iron and cook manakish then stay as you are ok.

My folks had a maid for nearly 28 years. She "retired" just prior to last Christmas - and moved to Desiland.

I have a LOT of respect and love for her - she practically looked after us, when my folks were at work or travelling etc. She never cooked -'casue she didn't know how to cook anything. However, she was most careful in the way she looked after us.

She couldn't operate any electronics - from the tele to the DVD or mom's 101 cookery equipments in the kitchen. She has attempted - and have inadvertently broken anything she lay hands on. It's sort of amusing - 'cause she'd nod/shake her head, like she knew what she's about to do, and how to use the machine - and if something went bust, she'd have this utterly confused/stunned look on her face, followed by look of fear & fake tears :)
Poor lady, I think about her often, wonder how she is doing back in her home?

Uff yaar chill shill!
Its not a case of working for me, its a case of working hard and making it work. Marriage is a lot of hard work.
and you cg! LMFAO!! Iron and manakeesh! hahahhahahah!
